Whats it really like for vulnerable customers

For the FCA, "a vulnerable customer is someone who, due to their personal circumstances, is especially susceptible to harm - particularly when a firm is not acting with appropriate levels of care."

But what are these customers really going through, and what does appropriate care look like?

In one of our regular Wednesday Wisdom sessions, we are joined by experts in distinct areas of vulnerability: divorce and bereavement. Lottie Leefe is a wealth planner and the founder of The Dura Society, which seeks to create a deeper connection between wealth and wellbeing. Dura includes The Divorce Concierge, providing impartial guidance to individuals on their finances during separation and divorce. Andy Langford is a counsellor, psychotherapist and the clinical director of the charity Cruse Bereavement Support. Jaskiran Mangat is a Trauma-Sensitive Financial Coach. She writes on all things money, mindset and personal financial wellbeing at Finance Therapy.

As usual, there’ll be lots of time for questions and comments.

Wednesday Wisdom is a weekly learning hour at Quietroom. An invited expert, or one of our own team, introduces an interesting topic that connects to pensions, investment or insurance, and we chat about it. Once a month we open up the event to friends of Quietroom too – so do join us if you’re free. If you can’t make it, sign up anyway and we’ll send you a link to the video recording afterwards.
