Office manager

Clerkenwell, London (EC1R)

Part-time (around 25 hours a week)

Up to £20,000 plus profit share bonus

We’re Quietroom, a twenty-strong team of writers, account managers and strategists. We work with organisations who have tricky, technical stories to tell – like pension funds, investment managers and insurance companies. We help them communicate in a more meaningful way, so that they can win business, fix complaints and keep customers happy.

Help our business run at its best

We’re looking for a special kind of person to take ownership of our space and help our business run at its best. A typical day could involve:

  • Answering the phones
  • Organising meetings
  • Booking travel for colleagues and clients
  • Arranging the weekly shop
  • Keeping our office plants alive

You’ll need to build good relationships with colleagues, suppliers and the people who manage our building. We’ll also look to you for the odd party turn – like hiding the Easter Eggs, ordering in last-minute team lunches, and putting up the Christmas decorations. Not all at once, though.

Be the person everyone loves to deal with

Our clients tell us that the welcome they get when they ring us up, or when they come to visit, is one of the best things about working with us. So, while experience in a similar job would come in handy, we’re really after someone with the right balance of personal qualities: warm and welcoming on the phone and in person, with a cool head and a sense of humour when things get busy.

You might be coming back to work after spending a few years raising a family. Or you might be looking for a job you can balance with your studies. This is a part-time role and we’re happy to talk about the best working pattern with the right candidate.

What you’ll get

As well as your salary, you’ll be eligible for a profit share bonus and matched pension contributions of up to 6%. We’ll invest in your training and development. And you’ll have chance to build your financial literacy and business knowledge through our weekly learning and sharing sessions. This is a new role, and you’ll play a big part in shaping it.

To apply, please send an email to with your CV and up to 300 words on why you think we’d be a good fit for each other. The closing date is Friday 24th January.

No agencies please.

We’re always happy to hear from great freelance writers

We’re interested in writers who can do two things: wrangle with copy at a forensic level, and bring that copy to life for clients who are driven by results. Our website shows the kind of work we do. If you think we’d work well together and you’ve got a writing sample that shows your chops, send it over!
