Diane Hassall-Mead

Communications Consultant

What do you do?

I plan and I connect. My job is to make sure that the right messages get to the right people at the right time.

Why do you do it?

Because it matters. People work hard for their money and need to make the right choices, but they can only do that if they understand their choices. I love working with people who care as much about others as I do.

Which projects have you worked on?

I tend to work on bigger projects, like pension change consultations for companies like NAPP Pharmaceuticals, and improving communications for large pension schemes like the Royal Mail Pension Plan.

Which project are you most proud of?

Probably changing the way in which the Royal Mail Pension Plan talks to its members. With such a huge membership, our work has made pensions easier to understand for hundreds of thousands of people.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I’m very lucky – I have two jobs I love. As well as working for Quietroom, I’m a counsellor and psychosexual and relationship therapist, working in private practice and for a couple of charities. When I’m not working I’m either baking, walking the dog or practising yoga.

What keeps you awake at night?

Nothing. I sleep like a log!
