Kathryn Papworth-Smith – Writer

What do you do?

I take complicated ideas you don’t want to think about, let alone read about, and write them down as something bearable – sometimes even enticing.

Why do you do it?

Because it makes a difference if people can easily understand things. We’re bombarded by words nowadays, so it’s good to read some that help make sense of the world.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I like eating cheese, seeing new theatre and walking my imaginary dog. I’m a big fan of brunches (you should definitely add meals to the day wherever you can). And I also enjoy mooching-days, where you don’t even leave home.

Where’s the best place to buy cheese in London?

Paxton & Whitfield on Jermyn Street. Accept no substitutes.
