Sarah Hawke – Writer
What do you do?
I talk and write to help people, for clarity and to spread knowledge. I like to write about juicy things that might make a meaningful difference to people. And I like to talk because I never learnt to shut up.
Why do you do it?
We all have gaps in our knowledge. I want to be someone who can fill in those gaps for people. I want to be able to amplify the things I believe in through words. I love the problem-solving part of fitting words together like a puzzle to build up a picture.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
I’m a massive advocate for natural afro hair so will usually be doing something like campaigns or working with people on topics like (mis)representation. Hobby-wise, I’m usually knotted up in a crochet project. Lock me in a room with an infinite amount of yarn and a crochet hook and you’d make this crafty gal very happy.
