Since he joined Quietroom in 2007, Simon has created communications strategy and content for all kinds of clients. He specialises in helping DB pension schemes, especially those with really gnarly problems to solve.
Simon has advised countless pension schemes in tricky situations, often against the clock and sometimes under the glare of the media.
He cut his teeth on controversial scheme changes at Kodak, BHS and British Steel. Recently, he’s helped Unilever communicate complex changes about its pension scheme, so members felt able to make a confident choice about their future. He led our work on the first ever GMP equalisation communications, and he’s been working with the Universities Superannuation Scheme since 2019, helping them explain their complex and controversial valuation process and other member communications.
He has worked with numerous independent trustee firms, the PPF, The Pensions Regulator, the Pensions Authority in Ireland and the PLSA, and has spoken at industry events at mallowstreet, the Transparency Task Force and Nest.
