Improving member engagement for a university pension scheme

How we transformed Cambridge University Pension Trustee’s member meetings.

Cambridge University Pension Trustee directors wanted to attract more members to the annual member meetings, to help them understand and make the most of their benefits. The last meeting they held had just 20 attendees. They wanted to get better engagement with their membership by improving the way the meetings were prepared and delivered.

We carried out research with their members to understand what they wanted to hear about. Using this research, we helped the client plan relevant content, which we used to promote the meeting to members. We then helped the Trustee representatives prepare for the meeting – and we chaired it for them.

110 members attended in person, 620 members attended online, and the video of the meeting has been viewed more than 1,500 times.

94% said they would attend a future meeting. 92% would recommend the meeting to colleagues.
